Yuko Yagisawa

Yuko Yagisawa is Associate Professor of Art at The Metropolitan State College of Denver. She coordinates the Jewelry Design and Metalsmithing program at Metro State.

Yuko is an active artist who creates unique jewelry and sculptural objects in precious and semi-precious metals and mixed medium. Her creative artwork is featured in galleries nationwide, including Yaw Gallery, Birmingham, Michigan, X/O Gallery, New Orleans, LA and Taboo Studio in San Diego, CA. She also works with clients as a custom jeweler and commission metalsmith. Her centennial medallion design was chosen for their presidential medallion for San Diego State University. She continues to be actively involved in her professional field such as Co-Curation of an international exhibition “Metalisms” at the Center for the Visual Arts, Denver, CO and supporting her art community as a Board member for the Colorado Metalsmithing Association. She is also an American Craft Council and Society of North American Goldsmithing Member.

Her work appeared most recently in both national and international exhibitions Anti-War Medals, Chess and The Ring Show. Her work traveled nationally and internationally through European countries includes, the Craft Council at the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Electrum Gallery, London England, Festspillene i Nord-Norge Harstad, Norway, Nordnorsk Kunstnersentrum Svolvær, Norway, Tromsø Kunstforening Tromsø, Norway, FAD Barcelona, Spain,(Alea Gallery in Barcelona), Barents Spectacle Kirkenes, Norway, Velvet da Vinci Gallery San Francisco, CA, USA. Publications include the books Art Jewelry Today, 1000 Rings.
