J.R. Massa

J.R. Massa’s professional career spans 20 years as an executive, entrepreneur and trusted business advisor to presidents, CEOs and business owners. His background and experience includes business start-up, operational management, business development, sales and marketing, project and product management and strategic planning. His experience as a business owner and shareholder provide him with broad exposure to the vast array of challenges, opportunities and problems that top executives and entrepreneurs face.

J.R. has been on the front line, in the boardroom and everywhere in between. A few of J.R.’s most impressive accomplishments include: founding and leading a national company in pre-IPO revenue growth from $0 to $50MM; preparing a national company for a successful exit by streamlining the company’s technology, sales and support operations; raising millions of dollars in angel and Wall Street funding.

J.R. founded Trusted Technical Advisors (TTA) in 2009 to put control of technology operations back into the hands of business leaders. TTA's mission is to remove the pains associated with technology decisions to ensure middle market companies can concentrate their time, money and resources on what is most important to them - the core focus of their business. Unlike most IT consulting firms, TTA provides CIO & CTO services and addresses ALL facets of technology, not just IT. TTA has built a hosting facility to provide hosted email, SharePoint, storage and full server environments to its clients. This hosting facility provides TTA with monthly revenues to cover the costs of its engineers and consultants, rather than relying on consulting revenues to drive the business.

Prior to TTA, J.R. co-founded Domin-8 Enterprise Solutions, a highly successful ASP-based software company focused on serving the apartment industry. During Domin-8's start-up phase, J.R. was a key player in developing the overall business plan, solely developed the sales and marketing strategies and was part of the executive team which secured Domin-8's seed and growth capital. As Vice President at Domin-8, J.R. was involved in all aspects of the business while developing and providing leadership to the Professional Services, Customer Support, Technical Publications, Training, Quality Assurance and Marketing departments. The business grew from 3 founders to 150+ employees in less than 4 years and $50MM in annual revenues.

Before Domin-8, J.R. was VP of Sales and Marketing for Rapid Transit Technologies (RTT) , a fully integrated voice, data and satellite provider serving the apartment industry. At RTT, J.R. drove all company-wide project work to restructure the operations, sales & marketing and billing strategies to position the company for sale. J.R. successfully executed the company's exit strategy and RTT was sold to a publicly traded company.

Prior to RTT, J.R. held various junior and senior positions with Denver start-ups where he developed a great passion for entrepreneurs and the entrepreneurial spirit. J.R. sits on the Board of Advisors for The Center For Innovation at Metro State College. The Center for Innovation provides training and programs for urban students that cultivates entrepreneurial leaders and results in career opportunities and job creation.

J.R. holds a Masters of Science in Public Relations and a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communications & Journalism, both from the University of Denver.
